1. What codes does the city enforce?

The city has multiple codes that we enforce. The most common code violations that we deal with is tall grass, improperly stored items, Unlicensed and inoperative vehicle in public view, trash/debris in yard, and sign permits.

2. What do I do if I have a complaint?

You can contact us 524-6535 or click the "Submit a Request" button on the home page of the city website.

3. Does the City accept anonymous complaints?

We do but it helps us if we can have contact information so that we can get back with you and tell you what is being done with the problem.

4. Where can I get a garage sale permit? Why do I need a permit and how much does it cost?

You can purchase a garage sale permit at the community development office for $5. The community development office is located at 410 N. Broadway. You must have a garage sale permit because it is city code 22-201.

5. Where can I put garage sale signs?

Garage sale signs shall NOT be posted/placed on street signs, utility poles or in the right of way. Owner permission must be obtained before putting signs on private property. All signs must be removed at the close of sale.

6. Is there a limit to the number of garage sales I can have?

You may have 2 garage sales per year at one residence.
