1. What hours is the Police Department open?

The Police Department is staffed 24/7. Administrative offices are open Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays, from 8a.m to 4:30p.m.

2. Can you send me a Siloam Springs Department patch?

No, we do not provide patches or police memorabilia.

3. How do I contact the Police Department or report a crime?

For non emergency calls, please dial 479-524-4118. For emergencies please dial 911.

4. I live outside the city limits but have a Siloam Springs mailing address, who should I call to report a crime?

The Siloam Springs Police Department responds to, and investigates crimes which occur within the city limits. If the crime occurred within the city limits you will need to contact us at 479-524-4118 for non-emergencies. For emergencies please dial 911.

If the crime occurred outside the city limits you will need to contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 479-273-5530. For all emergencies please dial 911. Additional information may be found at the Benton County Sheriff's online resource.

5. Who do I call to report animals running loose?

City Animal Control Officers are on duty from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and can be reached at 479-524-6536. Emergency animal service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 479-524-4118. More information about animal services can be found at the Animal Control online resource.

6. Can I get my fingerprints taken for a background investigation or employment?

Due to COVID, we will not be administering fingerprints at this time. 

7. How do I obtain an incident report or accident report?

Incident and accident reports may be obtained in person at the Siloam Springs Police Department from Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; or via e-mail at records@siloamsprings.com ;or by calling Records at (479) 524-4118 x5012. Active investigations will not be released until the completion of the investigation. To request a report please access the Records Division.

8. How do I retrieve my property?

If you believe or have been advised that the Police Department has recovered your property, please call the Evidence / Property Custodian at 479-524-4118, ext. 2217, or via e-mail to carrington@siloamsprings.com to make an appointment. 

9. What kind of services are there for victims of domestic violence?

If you are in immediate need of a safe shelter or need to speak with someone about safety tips you may contact the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter at 800-775-9011 or 479-246-9999. You can also access the shelter's online resource for more information.

10. Am I eligible to obtain an Order of Protection?

To obtain an order of protection you and the person you are filing against must be at least 18 years or older and meet one of the following criteria:

• Be married
• Divorced
• Living together or have lived together
• Be related by blood
• Have a child together
• Be a parent or guardian filing on behalf of a child under 18 years of age
• Be dating
• Have dated in the past

And you must believe you are in immediate danger of physical violence. You must be able to explain what the abuser has done to you; physically and/or threats of physical violence.

11. How do I obtain an Order of Protection?

To obtain an Order of Protection you may contact the Victim Assistance Coordinator for the Benton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office at 479-271-1030 for more assistance.

12. I received a ticket; what do I do next?

If you received a citation from a Siloam Springs Police Officer please contact the Siloam Springs District Court at 479-524-4947 or visit the online resource.

13. Where can I pay a ticket?

Payments can be made by mail; PO Box 80, Siloam Springs, AR 72761, or in person at the Siloam Springs District Court. Address: 410 N. Broadway, Siloam Springs, AR. Hours of Operation are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. For more information please call (479) 524-4947. 

14. How can I turn in or dispose of unused prescription medications?

You may turn in expired or unused prescription medication in person at the Police Department, there is a drop box for them. The Police Department will not accept prescription drug turn in from commercial businesses.

Accepted to turn in are: Prescription Medications, Over-the-Counter Medications, Prescription Patches, Prescription Ointments, Vitamins, Samples, Medications for Pets, and RX Creams.

NOT Accepted to turn in: Hydrogen Peroxide, Inhalers, Aerosol Cans, Ointments (Lotions or Liquids), Needles (Sharps), Medication from Businesses or Clinics, and Thermometers.

15. Will the Police Department check on my house if I am out of town?

Yes, you may request extra patrol of your residence by calling (479) 524-4118.  

16. Does the Police Department have a Reserve Officer Program?

The Siloam Springs Police Department only employs full time sworn personnel. 

17. I am interested in employment with the Police Department. How do I apply?

Thank you for your interest in joining the Siloam Springs Police Department team. We are always looking for career minded and team-oriented persons of solid moral character. Our department is comprised of both civilian employees and sworn Police Officers. Access our employment information resource for additional details. Applications for Police Officer are accepted during advertised job announcements when vacancies exist. Specific information to include minimum requirements, temporary and permanent dis-qualifiers and information on the hiring process can be found on the aforementioned resource.

Civilian Positions Civilian positions within the Police Department are Communication Dispatchers, records personnel and evidence custodian personnel. Communication dispatchers are required to work shift work and provide services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Records and evidence positions normally work standard business hours. 18. How do I get an Arkansas Driver’s License?

Driver’s licenses are issued by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration located at 707 S. Lincoln Street in Siloam Springs. You may contact them at 479-524-3182, or visit the link above.

19. How do I register my vehicle?

Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration handles all motor vehicle registration for the state. The Siloam Springs Office is located at 707 S. Lincoln Street in Siloam Springs or you may contact them at 479-524-3182. Specific vehicle registration information may be found at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration resource.

20. I need a VIN verification done; will the Police Department help me?

Yes, the Siloam Springs Police Department provides VIN verifications Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The police departments has the VIN verification form. More information on motor vehicle registration in the state or Arkansas can be found at the online state resource.

21. How do I compliment an officer?

Police Officers are expected to protect and serve the public as part of their duty, but sometimes an officer may go that extra mile. A thank you is always appreciated, but what if that just isn't enough to show your appreciation? If you think an officer merits special recognition, please contact the appropriate Commander by calling 479-524-4118, you may submit a compliment in written form to the Police Department or email us at: policedept@siloamsprings.com. The officer will be apprised of your comments.

22. How do I file a complaint against an officer?

Your complaint and our officer’s conduct are important to us. Complaints may be made in person, by telephone or in writing. The command administrative office hours for the Siloam Springs Police Department are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, our policy is to receive your complaint whenever and wherever you want to make it. Any Siloam Springs Police Department supervisor will provide you with a form to make your complaint or you can call the appropriate Commander at 479-524-4118 and leave your name and phone number and we will return your call. Finally, if you have access to a computer, you can email us to: PoliceDept@siloamsprings.com detailing your complaint.

23. Regarding Complaints, what are the responsibilities of both the Police Department and the citizens?

The Police Department's responsibility is to receive and record your complaint, evaluate it for assignment, conduct an impartial investigation, make an unbiased disposition, and correct the misconduct if it is found. Your responsibility is to report the facts as clearly as possible to us and as soon as possible after the incident. False complaints, with a specific intent to unjustly subject a police employee to undeserved discipline or slander, or to place his/her employment status in jeopardy, can result in criminal charges being brought against you.
