Meet Kris Paxton

A cheerful man with a friendly expression facing the camera.

The City of Siloam Springs is thrilled to introduce Kris Paxton as the newly appointed Director of Community Development. Kris brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to the region, making him an excellent addition to the team.

Before joining Siloam Springs, Kris held the position of Director of Planning and Development in Conway. However, he is excited to call Northwest Arkansas his home. Kris's journey in the area includes serving as the Development Compliance Manager in Rogers, a Planning Commissioner in Fayetteville, and a Senior Project Designer in Springdale. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to assume his new role in Siloam Springs.

Kris shared his thoughts on this new chapter, he said, "My family and I are profoundly thankful for the opportunity I've been entrusted with to serve as the Director of Community Development with the City of Siloam Springs."

Kris's enthusiasm for the growth of Siloam Springs is contagious, and he eagerly anticipates being a part of "a well-established precedent of high-quality planning, development, and construction within the City of Siloam Springs."

"As I settle in, I think about the things that excite me about the City," he said. "For a smaller community here in Northwest Arkansas, it is great to see that the previous and current staff and leadership have worked so hard and effectively on setting the foundations for growth. As this community navigates further to become a small city, the decisions we make together will dramatically impact future generations. The staff and leadership appear to have worked hard to hold this small community to the same standards as much larger cities, and by setting this as a standard early on, the City will be built on a foundation of best practices."

"While we acknowledge that there is always room for improvement, it should be applauded that these actions have already been a part of the conversation," Kris continued. "Through best management practices and a well-planned and deliberate organization, growth within the City leads to more local entrepreneurship, economic vitality, coordinated community events, increased uses in civic space and recreational areas, and a healthier, happier place to be. On par with these decisions, the City has a fantastic library and event spaces to ensure that as the community grows, there are amenities that allow citizens to enjoy all the benefits the community has to offer. I am happy to be here, and let’s get to work."
