The City of Siloam Springs is currently deliberating on a significant proposal for the annexation of 2,860 acres, including Heritage Ranch and Lawlis Ranch, into the City. The Board of Directors is seeking public input and encourages citizens to attend the upcoming meetings to discuss the ordinance. A public meeting is scheduled for August 1, 2023, at 6:30 PM in Siloam Springs City Hall. Another public meeting will be held on August 15, 2023, at the same time and location.
City staff are also in the process of creating a FAQ section on the website dedicated to answering annexation-related questions. Please feel free to submit inquiries here, and staff will ensure they are addressed in the online section.
If the annexation is approved, a communitywide vote will be held on November 7, 2023. Both the residents in the proposed annexation area and current Siloam Springs residents will have the privilege to cast their votes on the annexation question.
The annexation is expected to bring essential City services to the area, including police, fire and emergency medical services, code enforcement, animal control, sanitation, street maintenance, and land use zoning.
The City officials value public input and eagerly await active participation from the community in making this significant decision. The annexation will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Siloam Springs, and community engagement is vital for a well-rounded and inclusive outcome.
