Chief of Police Allan Gilbert will soon transition to his new role as City Administrator for the City of Siloam Springs in August. The City Board of Directors unanimously appointed Gilbert to the position on July 10.

In his new role, Gilbert has expressed his eagerness to focus on the well-being of employees, citizens, and the responsible growth of the city. He shared his enthusiasm, saying, "I am excited for the chance to take on the role of City Administrator and embrace the challenges that come with it. Siloam Springs holds a special place in my heart as a wonderful community to live and work in. Even my wife has noticed the smile on my face when I return home from work. Though it's been busy, I find great joy in the experience. Building new friendships is an added bonus, and I'm eager to have the support of the community as we work together to make our city even better."

Gilbert's impressive background of 29 years in law enforcement, including over 23 years in leadership and command roles, speaks to his dedication and skills. He has been involved in high-profile cases and joint assignments with prestigious agencies such as the FBI, Secret Service, and Interpol, earning several commendations for his achievements and commitment to his work.

Mayor Judy Nation expressed her excitement for the future of the community under Gilbert's leadership, stating, "I believe Chief Gilbert will bring a new type of leadership to the City Administrator's position. He seems very committed to working with our citizens, the Board, and the employees to continue to make our City the best place to work, live, and raise a family."

Outside of work, Gilbert enjoys spending time with his wife Brenda, and they will celebrate their 29th anniversary this October. The couple has two adult sons, Hunter and Jacob. In his leisure time, Gilbert engages in various outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, biking, and spending quality time with his family.

Next month, Communications Manager Megan Whitworth will sit down with Chief Gilbert to delve deeper into his past and previous work experiences, as well as his goals as he takes on the responsibilities of City Administrator in August. An official first day for Gilbert in his new role has yet to be determined.
