> This is the last weekly COVID update. There will still be a weekly new update from the office, but it won’t be all COVID based.
> Case report: 336,462 total cases, an increase of 296 from yesterday.
> Total active cases: 2,043, an increase of 104 since yesterday.
> 5,752 total deaths due to COVID, an increase of 5 since yesterday.
> 192 currently hospitalized, up 20 from yesterday.
> Top counties: Benton 43, Washington 42, Pulaski 27
> Testing remains low- 6,022 PCR tests (this month to date), only 1,840 PCR tests yesterday; 1,937 antigen tests to date this month, only 1,079 yesterday.
> Nearly 11,000 vaccinations were given out yesterday.
> Total vaccination doses received= 2,525,070 and have given 1,751,620 vaccinations to date. That is 69.4% of doses given.
> Individuals partially immunized= 270,426
> Individuals full immunized= 768,130
> The Governor is challenging Arkansas residents to reach a vaccination goal of 50% of Arkansans with at least one shot in the next 90 days. Currently 1,038,556 or 34% have received at least one shot. 467,206 more Arkansans will need to receive a shot to reach this goal.
> Benton County needs 19.5% of residents to receive at least one dose of the COVID vaccine to get to that 50% vaccination level.
> Pop up vaccination clinics will be occurring throughout the state. ADH will now be taking the vaccine to the local events where anyone who wants to get a shot. No appointment needed; no specific time needed. ADH is bringing vaccines to local events.
> The current state of emergency will end May 30, 2021.
> Variants have been detected in more than double the number of counties since 4/3/21.
> If you are traveling to/from India, please quarantine 14 days upon return to Arkansas.
>Children really have no protection against the virus unless those around them are vaccinated. Please consider how this will protect your children when getting the vaccine.
