> Total cases= 333,709 with an increase of 198 since yesterday.
> Total active cases= 1,804, with an increase of 15 since yesterday.
> Total deaths= 5,706, up 7 from yesterday.
> Hospitalizations= 77, up by 13 since yesterday.
> Top counties for new cases: Benton 29, Pulaski 26, Washington 22
> We continue to receive our federal allocation of the vaccine with a total of 2,291,620 an increase of 29,490 in the last 24 hours.
> Given out 19,583 vaccinations in the last 24 hours
> 637,872 individuals are already fully immunized.
> There’s an ample supply of vaccines- we need to increase demand.
> Governor’s goal is to have 1 Million vaccinated. We are still shy of that goal by approximately 27,000.
> 14.2% of Arkansans are partially vaccinated. 27.5% are fully vaccinated. We are below the national average vaccination rate.
> Vaccinations broken down by age: 52.5% of those over 65 have been fully vaccinated, 20.1% of individuals aged 18-64 have been fully vaccinated, 1.8% of individuals under age 18 have been fully vaccinated.
> We need to work on the 18-64 age group to increase vaccinations.
> Vaccinations broken down by race: 55.8% of Hispanic individuals have been fully vaccinated and 22.2% have been partially vaccinated; 49.1% of white individuals have been fully vaccinated and 13% have been partially vaccinated; 45.1% of black individuals have been fully vaccinated and 15.4% have been partially vaccinated.
> Children are still susceptible to the virus. The new strain cases are increasing in children and the virus tends to be more severe than the original strain.
>All local offices of the Department of Health will have the vaccine next week. Call the vaccine hotline to schedule an appointment. There is a location with vaccines in each county in Arkansas.
