The City of Siloam Springs takes the safety of its residents and visitors seriously. We have partnered with CodeRED emergency notification system as a free service for City residents to be notified of severe weather. 

Residents can sign up for notifications specific to their address here: CodeRED sign up. We encourage you to create a managed account so you have the ability to update your information. The CodeRED system can also be used for notifications such as boil orders, broken water mains, closed streets, etc.

Weather Operation Center:

City staff will stand up the Weather Operation Center (WOC) when severe weather is forecasted with an onset or arrival time within 2 hours of the City. Severe weather will include tornado watches that include any portion of the City, the potential for winds in excess of 65 miles per hour (mph), the potential for hail with a diameter of 3/4-inch or greater, and thunderstorm warnings that may be capable of producing tornadoes

City's Policy for sounding the Outdoor Warning System:

A tornado warning is used for any part of the City, including tornado warnings issued for Adair and Delaware counties when the polygon stops at the state line and the tornado’s path is likely to impact the City.

  • Spotters or radar indicate winds in excess of 65 mph are within 20 minutes of the City.
  • Spotters or radar indicate 3/4-inch or greater diameter hail within 20 minutes of the City.
  • Any other reliable information received from media reports or other sources which report any of this type of severe weather activity within 20 minutes of the City.
