Library Cards

Age Requirements

  • Adults 18 years or older
  • Children 5-17 years old
    • A parent or guardian must have a library card before issuing a card. 


How to Get a Library Card

  1. Bring 2 forms of ID to the library. 
    • Current Driver's License, or another state or federally issued Photo ID card. 
    • Proof of current physical address (checkbook, utility bill, receipt, etc.)
      • P.O. Box addresses must be verified with proof of current physical address. 
  2. Fill out a Library Card Application Form for each cardholder online or in person. 
    • The owner of the library card has the sole information about the materials they check out. 
    • A waiver must be filled out and signed by the cardholder if they want information released to someone else.

Check-Out Limits

To check out items from the library, you must have a library card. Adults may check out 20 items. Of these 20 items, 6 may be DVDs, 2 may be a new release, and 1 may be a video game. Children may check out 10 items. Of these 10 items, 6 may be DVDs, 2 may be a new release and 1 may be a video game.  


Check-Out Period

All DVDs and video games can be checked out for 1 week. All books, CDs, CD / Books, paperbacks and magazines can be checked out for 2 weeks. New Releases, DVDs and video games can be renewed 1 time. Other items can be renewed 2 times. Items with reserves may not be renewed. Please visit the library, call 479-524-4236 during business hours, or go to your account through Polaris to renew an item. Library Account Renewals

Library accounts are renewed every year. Patrons that live outside city limits will need to pay their yearly fee at this time. 


Replacing a Lost Library Card

  • $3.00 to replace a library card

Notifications

  • Methods of notification for late items:
    • E-mail
    • Text
    • Mail
  • All bills for late items will be sent by mail. 
  • Method of notification for items placed on Reserve:
    • E-mail
    • Text
    • Phone

Late Fees

  • $0.10 per day for all books and audiobooks. 
  • $0.50 per day for DVDs, Blu-Rays, CDs and Playaways. 
  • $1.00 per day for video games. 

When late fees reach $5.00, your account will be suspended until your your fees are paid.

Any items due while the library is closed may be placed in the book drop at the front of the building. Fines will not be charged for the day(s) the library is closed.

Overdue Item Process

If an item is overdue for:

  • 1 Week
    • You will receive either an E-mail, text, or phone call about the late items. 
  • 2 Weeks
    • You will receive either an E-mail, text, or postcard. Postcards have a $0.50 postage charge. 
  • 3 Weeks
    • You will receive either an E-mail, text, or a letter. Letters have a $0.75 postage charge. 
  • 4 Weeks
    • You will receive a bill with a postage charge of $0.75. 

Lost and Damaged Items

These items will be assessed a $5 processing fee per item in addition to the cost of the item.


Copying and Fax Services

Copies

  • Black and White 
    • 8-1/2" x 11" copy is $0.10 per side. 
  • Color
    • 8-1/2" x 11" copy is $0.20 per side. 

Faxes

  • Sending a fax is $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. 
  • Receiving a fax is $0.10 per page.

Scanning

Documents scanned to an E-mail are free.
