Former Mayor M.L. "Moose" Van Poucke Passed Away

Mayor Van Poucke

The City of Siloam Springs would like to pay our respects to M.L. Van Poucke, Jr. , “Moose”, who passed away last night. He respectfully served the City of Siloam Springs as Mayor from 1979-1980 and again from 1989-2008. Mayor Van Poucke was extremely dedicated to the City and served as a mentor to numerous employees and friends. While Mayor Van Poucke accomplished much during his tenure serving Siloam Springs, his humble nature ensured that others received credit.
He was incredibly committed to helping our community on a personal level, serving as a Mason, volunteering on the Board at the Siloam Springs Adult Development Center, volunteering with the Rainbow Girls and countless other organizations. Van Poucke was named ‘Volunteer of the Year’ by the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce in 2011 – an award that was created and named after him beginning in 2007.
He leaves behind a loving family and many others who consider him family, including many who work for the City.
You will be missed, Mayor Van Poucke.
