Green Spaces

The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission (NWARPC) is developing a Northwest Arkansas Regional Open Space Plan throughout 2015. This plan includes both Benton and Washington Counties.  The purpose of the plan is to develop a coordinated, voluntary program to protect and promote the region's most valued natural landscapes and open spaces.  The goal is to preserve these assets; thereby maintaining our high quality of life as the region continues to grow and prosper.  We need your help and guidance in creating the plan and getting input for the plan from the residents of the Counties.


Public workshops are scheduled for Jun 8-11.  Meetings will be drop-in from 4-6:30.  Please pass this information on to all your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers so that they may attend and give their input.  Meeting locations are as follows:

  •  Mon Jun 8 – NEBCO Community Center, 17823 Marshall St, Garfield
  •  Tue Jun 9 – The Jones Center, 922 E Emma Ave, Springdale
  •  Wed Jun 10 – PG Battlefield State Park, 506 E Douglas St, Prairie Grove
  •  Thu Jun 11 – City Library, 105 E Main St, Gentry
